1. The Client Need
Sharing Wheels Community Bike Shop needed a stronger way to communicate the full scope of its impact throughout Everett and Snohomish County. The organization offers much more than bicycle sales and repairs, including community bike programs, maintenance classes, youth programs, volunteer opportunities, free DIY repair resources, and mobile bike repair clinics.
The challenge was helping people quickly understand everything Sharing Wheels provides and why those programs matter to the community.
2. What J. Donovan Smith Creative Produced
J. Donovan Smith Creative developed and produced 15 short-form social media videos, each approximately 20–30 seconds long.
The creative process began by asking detailed questions about Sharing Wheels, its programs, its people, and its community involvement. Those conversations helped identify individual stories and topics that could each become a focused video.
Rather than trying to explain the entire organization in one piece, the campaign broke the Sharing Wheels story into a series of easy-to-consume, authentic social videos.
3. What the Videos Were Intended to Accomplish
The videos were created to:
• Increase awareness of Sharing Wheels and its community programs
• Educate viewers about services they may not know exist
• Highlight the people and purpose behind the organization
• Encourage participation in classes, programs, volunteering, and events
• Give Sharing Wheels a library of engaging content it could share consistently across social media
Together, the videos helped tell a much larger story: Sharing Wheels isn’t simply a bike shop. It’s a community resource built around access, education, sustainability, and connection.
